Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel ICU Registered Nurse (RN) We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our critical care team. This role is ideal for a skilled nurse who thrives in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment and is confident providing comprehensive care to critically ill patients. Position Summary: The ICU RN delivers high-quality, patient-centered care to critically ill patients by utilizing the nursing process, advanced clinical judgment, and evidence-based practice. The nurse will monitor complex patient conditions, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and respond quickly to changes in patient status. Key Responsibilities: - Provide direct nursing care to critically ill ICU patients - Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry - Administer medications, titrate drips, and manage life-support equipment - Perform detailed patient assessments and respond to emergent situations - Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team - Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the medical record - Adhere to safety, infection control, and regulatory standards Requirements: - Active RN license - Minimum of 1 year RN experience - ACLS AND BLS CERTS - Critical care experience required - Ability to read and interpret telemetry - Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills - Ability to work independently during night shifts NO ON-CALL Every other weekend required About American Consultants Since 1989, American Consultants has been the leader in national healthcare staffing and consulting services.
